Steel wire ropes are high-strength cables used in stabilization systems to anchor meshes, panels, or structures to rock slopes. With appropriate protection, they offer high load capacity and good corrosion resistance, making them suitable for exposed mountain environments.

### Fiber-core ropes
Fiber-core (FC) ropes prioritize flexibility and ease of handling. They are often used for lighter bracing lines, service ropes, and assemblies where small bending radii are required and the core can retain lubricant, bearing in mind their lower crush resistance compared with steel-core constructions.

### Steel-core ropes
Steel-core ropes (WSC/IWRC) provide greater dimensional stability, higher crush resistance, and, for the same diameter, typically higher breaking loads. They are recommended for demanding, long-term applications where the rope works under sustained load and may be exposed to dynamic actions or abrasion.
